Welcome to the Comprehensive Livestock Environmental Assessments and Nutrient (CLEANEast) Management Plan program , supporting owners and operators of livestock and poultry operations in the Eastern United States.

What can CLEANEast do for you?

CLEANEast provides confidential, FREE technical support to farms including beef, dairy, swine, or poultry operations located in 27 eastern states.

CLEANEast helps farm operators identify and implement farm management practices that protect the environment.

CLEANEast is a voluntary program that farm operators can apply to for on-site support services from a qualified Technical Assistance Professional (TAP) to:

The CLEANEast program is developed and administered by RTI International (RTI) and North Carolina State University (NCSU). Funding for the program is provided under a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Technical Assistance Professionals are independent subcontractors to RTI with certifications and expertise specific to the states where they serve as part of the CLEANEast program.


The program "CLEANEast" is a free educational program.  Participation is voluntary.  Although RTI International makes every reasonable effort to provide current and accurate information, the Program may not address all Federal, State or Local requirements related to the operation of specific animal facilities.  RTI International does not assume any legal liability or responsibility for the participant's compliance with government requirements.
